Model, CEO, and Creative Director Ezinne Mgbeahuruike founded Ezylivin as a storytelling vehicle for immigrant women of color to be seen, represented, and heard. When she moved to America at a young age, she noticed that America didn’t make space for her to be authentically herself as a Nigerian woman. Her quirky personality and African perspective made her stand out from the black community which left her unaccepted by the very people that looked like her. To combat this pain, she let her pen bleed writing, producing, and directing stories about African women for magazines such as Teen Vogue, I-D, Time Out, and many others as a freelance writer.
Graduating from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with a degree in Journalism and Communications, she moved to New York to chase her dreams without having a job or place to stay, a risk taker indeed. Her first job was as at front desk of an advertising agency and it was there her interest for storytelling in advertising grew. This foot in the door led to many more doors as Mgbeahuruike became a creative consultant for 10 years consulting for brands like Nike, Verizon, Google, Mediacom, to name a few. Her skills range from copywriting, project management, social media marketing to production. Corporate America didn’t understand that Mgbeahuruike had a unique identity as a black immigrant which led to even more frustration so she quit her job at Mediacom and birthed Ezylivin Studios. The digital marketing, pr, advertising agency giving brands the opportunity to speak intimately and authentically to immigrant women of color through emotional connection and shared values. Mgbeahuruike understands the power, impact, and profit of being seen for who you truly are in media and advertising and that is why she’s made it her life mission.
